Creating a Habit for exercise

The new year is always full of well…..NEW!  We are excited to start 2023 with all of you.  I have to admit, while I don’t make a habit of resolutions I do like reflecting on what is going well and what isn’t.  Assessing my own habits and striving to either strengthen or change them has been a useful tool.  This year, in researching what the best ways to form a habit, I came across a great article by Katy Milkman the author of How To Change.   I like practical advice that is grounded in research and that is exactly what she has done.  She recommends:

  • Setting specific goals

  • Creating a detailed, cue-based, action plan

  • Make it fun

  • Be flexible

  • Find social support

You can read more about her recommendations here.
