Welcome to CONNECT!

Welcome to CONNECT where Movement CONNECTS us!

I chose to change the name of my business in 2018 to better reflect my philosophy and my aspirations for the business. Rehabilitation, performance enhancement, and fitness all require attention and reflection.

We have to ask our bodies questions and listen to what they tell us. Sometimes we have to coax areas to do more than what they’ve grown accustomed to doing. Sometimes we have to tell certain areas to take a break. The ability to ask questions and listen offer as way for us to re-CONNECT with ourselves. Loss of function and pain can frequently put us at odds with our own bodies making us feel dis-connected. We can get focused on what we can’t do or simply start avoiding activity. Whatever the situation, I often find myself describing an exercise or an intervention as something that will “CONNECT the dots” in the body. Truly, the act of tuning in and asking the questions in the first place goes a long way. The power to CONNECT into our bodies is within is all and that power, learning, and healing helps us show up for ourselves, our families and our communities. I truly believe that movement connects us!

Another aspect of CONNECT is community. I want your experience in the studio to be a positive one. I want you to feel welcomed and know you are in a place that will support you. I know accountability goes a long way in making a lifestyle change and my hope is that CONNECT offers space to create a community of movers who look forward to their time together and are dedicated to their well-being. As I reflect on it now, in the middle of the pandemic, I see this meaning in a whole new light. I am grateful for the continued support of our community as we pivoted online when this all began. I’m heartened by the fact that folks show up regularly to move, to laugh, and to learn. Whatever the future holds we will keep on moving!
